On our own...
For those who haven't heard, we started our own business about a month ago. Joel has been working in the staffing industry for the last 2 1/2 years and figured if he could do it for someone else, he could do it for himself... and he was right. Our company is called CalCoast Recruiting, and you can visit the website at www.calcoastrecruiting.com for more information. It was a little scary at first, but quick success made the transition a lot easier. It is also so nice to have Joel around more, since most of his work is on the phone or computer.
The Big 3-0
Well, Joel turned 30 on Friday! We had a little cake and some gifts at home with the kids then his mom came up on the train that evening and gave him the best gift he (we) could ask for... at night away, just the two of us. I am embarrassed to admit that we have not been away without the kids since we had them. We won't let 4 years go by again.
Saturday morning we headed to San Francisco. We fall in love with this city all over again everytime we visit. We even ran into a few celebs while we were there.
Ha ha, just kidding, but we did enjoy the Wax Museum. Neither of us had been before; it is a lot of fun.

YW Pre-Camp Overnighter
We arrived just afternoon and set up right away. We had one giant tent for the girls and one for the leaders. We camped at the Feather River, and I think it was hotter there than it was at home, so we really enjoyed the water.
Besides the duck you see below, we had quite a bit of wildlife to enjoy; Gofers (watch out, you might break your ankle in a hole) lizards, beatles the size of my hand and thousands of mesquitos, all of which decided they liked my blood!
I have been in a Young Women's presidency for... well... forever, pretty much, and this was my first time to camp with the girls. I know that's pretty bad, and it wasn't even "Girls Camp". Anyway, we had a blast. Our girls our so silly all we really have to do is sit back and let them entertain us.
