Everything... and the kitchen sink!

We have slowly been updating our kitchen over the last 2 years. We started with the range, then the dishwasher and microwave. We painted the walls green and got window treatments. Last summer I painted the cupboards and added knobs, and in October we replaced our fridge. Finally, this weekend we replaced the sink and faucet.

Merry Christmas

We decided to start a new tradition in our family. I have heard of several other families doing this an always wanted to. On Christmas Eve, everyone in the family gets to open one present from mom and dad. Inside are new pajamas to wear to bed so when we get up in the morning to open gifts and take lots of pictures we still look decent.

We had a great Christmas this year. Ethan got a skateboard from Santa, although I still think he is a little young.
Austin caught on real quick that there was candy in his stalking.
Megan got a play kitchen from Santa this year, however, I think Austin has enjoyed it more than she. All she really cared about was her Tangled Princess from her Aunt Ashley... great job Ortegas!

The boys can finally have an even fight with their light sabers. Ethan got one several year ago and decided he wanted to get one for his little brother this year... it was a big hit.

Grandma Cheers and Santa Fears

Grandma and Grandpa Higginbotham came to visit just before Christmas so the kids got to open a few presents early. It was like waking up Christmas morning twice this year. They were just thrilled with their gifts and it kept them occupied for one more day!

Austin loves kids, Austin loves our 13-year old babysitter, Austin does not love adults outside mommy and daddy... Santa was no exception. Although I may have traumatized my child, I thought this picture was priceless.

This is as close as Megan would get to Santa, and you may notice I didn't post a picture of Ethan with Santa... he wouldn't even go near him.
